Cinta?1

BUKAN! Bukan abang botak.

Setelah melahap menjamah tiga keping lambchop, empat ketul ayam, nasik, brokoli, jagung steam, filet ikan makanan2 yang disediakan tanpa menghiraukan sangat penyanyi yang tak best berkenaan, tiba2, ada la pulak seorang 'jentayu'2 tiba2 muncul dari belakang dewan.

*Erk*

Nasib baik aku terselamat dari dicekup 'jentayu' berkenaan untuk dibawak bergelek dangdut atas pentas. Seorang pakcik yang duduk betul2 dibelakang aku yang jadi mangsa.

Hua hua.

Hasilnya, kumpulan kami menang tempat ketiga acara Belon Air.

Horei!

Huu... insaf.

Kemudian, bini tersayang dapat tempat pertama acara Jalan Atas Bata.

Hip hip horei!

Hadiahnya ialah sebuah penimbang berat badan. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Gendut...

Adeh! Tetiba rasa macam kena cubit dengan bini tersayang.

Akhirnya, acara berpasangan iaitu Lari Kaki Tiga.

Sekian...

Oh ye, selamat menyambut Hari Raya Korban dan tahun baru 2007. Harap2, tiada antara kita yang jadi korban.

p/s:
Kamu dah tengok filem 'Cinta'? Filem tu best tapi aku tak suka la cerita tersebut. Tak suka. Tak suka. Tak suka. Tak suka. Tak suka...

"Eee... ayang nangis~" aku, kepada bini tersayang setelah tamat menonton.

  1. Ye ye, entri ini ditulis dengan gaya bahasa waktu aku mula2 tulis blog ni dulu. Nostalgia hujung tahun...
  2. 'Jentayu' bermaksud jantan ayu. Istilah ketika di UTP.

Beta!

The English proficiency test was successfully conducted today. I don't think I did well in the test. The questions were quite tricky, but luckilly I managed to answer all despite the fact that I was interrupted a couple of times by a call from a university who would like to send their student for internship at my unit and a personal call from Didi.

The consultant had two things in mind when she prepared the questions - to see the English proficiency level of the staff and to get some insight on the candidates and their respective job at this Company. A pretty clever strategy I would say.

Yesterday morning, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Abdullah Sher Kawi, who I believed was made famous by his appearance in Akademi Fantasia (AF) as the motivational advisor. Datin brought him to me to discuss on a 'grooming' class to be conducted to the young executives.

(ARGH! MORE WORK!)

Honestly, I didn't like him that much when I saw him in AF, but meeting him in person changed my opinion about him. He has quite an admirable knowledge on making an impression, very observant to personality and behavior, talks a lot and has a lot of passion towards his work. He also guessed my age correctly. Yes, he is the right person for the job, which Datin leaves me to handle... again!

Later in the afternoon, Datin took over the meeting on Family Day which I mentioned in my last entry, successfully changed the agenda I had put up in the invitation mail, and offended a few attendees along the way. Regardless, she managed to put everything in order and by the end of the meeting, a preliminary plan for the event was drafted and an organizing committee was set up, to be lead by Fariz.

YEAY! :D

Datin was aware of the amount of work she delegated to me, though she still put me to head the sub-committee for activities for the event. I didn't mind, as long as Fariz is the leader for the organizing committee. He is extremely capable for this job. Well, if you watched Explorace Season 1, this guy and his wife were the winning couple.

Huhu~.

When I thought everything was going well, an urgent email from Finance Division successfully pissed me off by requesting the presentation pack for the Budget Review Committee to be submitted by the end of the week, which is tomorrow!

Eventhough I had all the figures consolidated since last week, I would have expected them to send the notification at least two weeks in advance like what they did last year. At least, I could have the lead time to clear out my schedule and to plan some times to focus on preparing the presentation. But nooo, that won't be convenient to them. Thus, in return of the favor, I'm going to delay the submission of the package, screw their schedule and pissed them back.

HAHAHA!

I'm going nuts... or am I screwed? Nope, not tonight.

p/s: OK, I'm just kidding about delaying the submission. Well, who in the right mind would want to mess up with the people who hold the money? I trully am pissed though.

Nowhere.

There's a lot of things going on right now. I have quite a few things to write, but haven't found the willpower to do so.

Me and beloved wife (should be 'My beloved wife and I') went to Batu Pahat on Saturday. Her best friend from primary school got married, and since the friend attended our wedding, my beloved wife felt we have to attend hers too. So, we did.

Last week has been hectic. Next week will be worse. My desk planner are full of scribbles of meetings and events I have to attend.

"Scary nye calendar abang..." Arfah commented when she saw it.

Yes, she called me 'abang'. Gave me goosebumps. We've been trying to make her stop addressing not-too-senior staff (like me) 'abang' and 'kakak', but were not very successful. Can't blame her though. She's just trying to be polite.

I'm going to have a meeting with a person from the Education Division on the 19th, regarding an on-the-job attachment program for the people of Mauritania at my unit. Mauritania, not Mauritius. Never heard about it? It's my first time too. I had to look it up on the net and have been studying about the country for the past few weeks.

On the 20th, I called for a meeting with a few representatives from each department to discuss on our unit's Family Day, which is scheduled to be held in February next year. I had to call for the meeting before everyone starts going off for their long holidays. At least, the planning part can be started soon. Datin wasn't very happy though. She wanted to take leave starting on the19th onwards. She didn't expect me to call for that meeting and appoint the committee myself, eventhough she assigned me this task herself.

*sigh*

And on the 21st, there will be an English proficiency test for all executives and support staff in my unit. This will mark the kick-off of the English program I've been talking about for the past few weeks.

It was not an easy task to convince the staffs to take that test. Some of them have excellent result in TOEFL, IELTS and MUET. I was accused of not recognizing their achievement by making it compulsory for everyone to take the test. I countered with 'If you've passed TOEFL, IELTS and MUET, this one will not be much of a problem. If you want to be excluded, please get approval from the Management'. I have to take that test too, you know.

I love using 'the Management' as my shield. Of course, I have their endorsement. Not that I made up their directive and use it for personal gains.

Last week, I had quite a debate with a manager from other department on the topic of HR as the voice of the Management. The manager said that most of the time, HR will act on behalf of the Management, as if HR staffs don't have their own stand on the issue or have the point of view as the other staffs of the Company.

I had to explain to her that as a staff of HR, we have our own set of ethics that we have to follow. Sometimes, we feel the same way as the other staffs, and we do debate with the Management on behalf of the staff before any policy is approved and rolled out.

As the policy enabler, we have to put the Company's interest beyond our own personal interest. Although we may disagree with the policy, we have to put our own personal opinion behind whenever we communicate and enforce the policy to the staff. If we cant handle that, the best way is to resign from the post in HR. If not, we've breached our code of profesionalism.

She bought it. I didn't bluff.

The burden is still bearable. Yet, it's tough being an HR practitioner. We tend to get all the blame. Its just part of the job...

p/s: I'm tired and its almost 4.00 am when I'm writing this. Insomniac. So, a lot of grammatical errors are expected.

Pusingan.

Jumaat pagi. Aku lambat ke ofis. Aku sms Kak Pazila bagitahu.

Petang itu, ketika sessi borak2 kosong di ofis;

Aku: Kak Pazila dapat kan sms saya pagi tadi?
Kak Pazila: Dapat...
Aku: Saya amik wife saya pagi tadi.
Kak Pazila: Takpe... akak faham (mengekek)
Aku: ?
Kak Pazila: Sempat se-round? (mengekek lagi kuat)
Aku: (Senyum)
Arfah: Eh akak ni, Arfah yang malu... (blushing)

Arfah eksekutif baru di sini. Beliau bekas pelajar UTP juga, jurusan IT. Junior aku lah. Anak dara lagi. Kesian beliau.

(Haha)

(mengekek)
Aku: Laa... Kesian Abang Khairi... (mengekek juga)

p/s: Selamat Pengantin Baru Kak Ayu dan Abang Khairi. Semoga kekal ke anak cucu.

Hadhari?

Aku dipaksa menghadiri Majlis Pelancaran Konvensyen Nasional Komuniti Hadhari 2006 pagi tadi, di Masjid Wilayah. Perasmian sepatutnya dilakukan Pak Lah, tapi beliau tak hadir. Mengecewakan.

Lagi sekali aku geleng kepala.

Buat masjid dulu, kemudian buat pasar. Masjid untuk ummat Islam, tapi pasar untuk semua. Tiada favouritism, tiada diskriminasi. 'First come, first serve'.

Bukan pemahaman Hadhari.

Hoho.

p/s: Aku sms tanya Kak Ayu nak apa untuk hadiah kawen. Dia jawab nak TV. Haha. Adeh! Tengoklah kalau mampu.

Campur?

Wong, aku tak berniat menukar blog ini menjadi blog bahasa Inggeris sepenuhnya. As I said earlier, only for a few entries... at least until we're through with the English class (Which still haven't kicked-off). Not limiting myself to official memos or email correspondence. Bukan juga kerana aku hendak menunjuk2 kebolehan berbahasa Inggeris. Or, that I will sound stupid in Malay (I'm still not over this issue).

Buat apa? Gunakanlah kreativiti masing2 untuk mentafsir.

Tadi, kami berdua pergi menonton wayang.

"Unless, there's a Divine intervention"

Tapi, kadang2 kita rasa dejavu. Sebenarnya, fenomena inilah yang berlaku.

Betulkah?

Tak tau la. Aku mengarut2 je.

Hehe.

p/s: Kakak aku, Husnul Khatimah a.k.a Kak Ayu mau kawen hujung minggu ni (9/12/2006). Mari ucapkan selamat pengantin baru kepada beliau.
