Teruntum.

Hari kelapan, bilik 215, Wad Makmur, KMC.

...

Aku: "Cik Jururawat, saya nak pinjam result MRI saya jap"

Cik Jururawat: "Yang report ke filem?"

Aku: "Filem..."

Cik Jururawat: "Tau tengok ke?"

Aku: "Tau, tadi doktor dah tunjuk. Saja, tak puas tengok lagi"

...

Terima kasih bini tersayang kerana datang melawat hari ni.

Paklong.

Hoh?

Entahlah...

Budu.

Kenapa ada istilah raya pertama, raya kedua, raya ketiga...? Sejak bila ummat Islam beraya sehingga sebulan? Tok guru mana punya fatwa nih? Puasa ye la, sebulan Ramadhan. Tu pon ramai yang tak cukup. Ada hati nak beraya sebulan konon...

Kenapa malam-malam menjelang raya, ramai orang pasang pelita keliling rumah? Lepas dah cerah tu, lupa pulak nak jalan pergi surau berteraweh. Adakah kita nak memeriahkan 10 malam terakhir Ramadhan atau nak tiru orang Hindu menyambut Deepavali?

Kenapa takbir Hari Raya selalunya berbunyi sayu (bukan Sayuti) mendayu-dayu? Bukan ke kita meraikan kemenangan melawan nafsu? Kenapa tak bersemangat? Dah menang, kena la semangat! Atau, adakah mendayu-dayu itu, tanda kekalahan? Oh!

Nasib baik budaya hantar kad raya dah tak berapa popular. Semua pakai online, e-kad, email, SMS dengan MMS je sekarang ni. Budaya kad raya ni, sebenarnya dari mana ye? Aku pon tak tahu. Dulu, rajin jugak hantar kad raya dekat keluarga dan awek-awek. Sekarang, SMS pon malas. Walhal, 1 sen je pon kredit. Huhu.

Lepas raya, disunatkan kita puasa enam.

Haha.

Memang betulla kita ni suka beraya.

Muniandy.

Kerana terlalu sibuk mencari salah orang lain, kita lupa mencari salah diri sendiri.

Bagaimana mereka memperolehi pendidikan tinggi jika betul Barisan Nasional ingin memperbodoh-bodohkan mereka?

Erm... mata Dato' jeling kat mana tu Dato'?

"Latok?"
"Aa... erm... aa... ye ye. Mandela Mandela..."

(gulp!)

Huhu.

Sayut & Erynn2 - 5

Seven years. And counting...

Back then;

Time flies.

We're finally living together after three long years of LDR. Well, they say seven is a lucky number.

Perhaps we're going to be luckier this year?

InsyaAllah...

Syifaak: Papa, Mami. Nak nenen...
Papa: Nak nenen gi dekat Mami.
Syifaak: Papa pon ade nenen gak. Tapi, Syifaak tanak nenen Papa. Syifaak nak adik je.
Mami: Hehehe (adoi)

Syifaak: Oh ye, Uncle Kmie. Tahun ni takde background music sempena Uncle Kmie nak kawen lusa. Papa, Mami ngan Syifaak maybe tak dapat datang la... Sori ye Uncle.

Asy-Syifaak - 1

Syifaak turns one today...

A man could only understand true love when he becomes a father.

*sniff*

Update failure:

I was planning to put up a video compilation of Syifaak since day one until now which I was working on when suddenly a KL boss asked my section to prepare a last minute montage for a certification ceremony, which I had to jump in and do because no one else think it was possible to do it within three days with the lack of visual material and a storyline but is having certain issue with the software - Microsoft Movie Maker (yes, the one that comes with Vista or XP OS installation). So, if the video ever get done, it will go into a new post.

I was planning to post a picture of Syifaak as a replacement but the internet connection in Hotel Mayat causes the blogger's add image tool to not work properly.

Gahh...

FINAL UPDATE!

This is the picture I was trying to upload...

Unedited.

Bergaya tangkap gambar sendiri.

p/s: Syifaak said thanks for the birthday wishes.

Sayut & Erynn2 - 4

Tok Imam: Mas kawennya mana ye?

Aku: Kejap-kejap (Seraya mengeluarkan wallet)

Tiba-tiba semua orang gelak besar.

Ummi: Laa, tak letak dalam sampul ke? (Suara panik)

Aku: Kena letak ke? (Muka sudah merah, berpeluh-peluh) Kenapa tak cakap awal-awal. Kan pagi tadi orang dah tanya. Takde orang bagitau pon.

Ummi: Hmm... orang lain sibuk bersiap!

Pak Su: Nah! (Sambil menghulurkan sekeping sampul duit raya kosong). Buat malu betui la hang ni...

Aku: Huhu.

Hohoho.

p/s:
Selamat ulangtahun perkahwinan ketiga, ayang. Sori, dinner steamboat dekat restoran Shabu Shabu semalam tak berapa best dan romantik. Syifaak punye pasal. Huhu.

SAFETY TIP:

Be careful when using the guest room's toilet bidet in Berjaya Time Square Hotel. The tap may be wrongly installed.

Conventionally, the blue indicator on the tap should represents cold water flow while red represents hot. These indicators may have reverse effect due to wrong installation.

I literally burned my a*s last night when I turned the bidet tap max to blue . Yeah, go on... laugh like my beloved wife did, but I believe this is a painfully serious matter. I was considering suing the hotel.

Then again, I was not an official guest of the hotel. The room was registered under my wife's name for a Company's official function.

Huhu.

NOTE: This Safety Tip message is in support to my Company's 'HSE at heart' initiative.

911.

Last week was hectic. I had a meeting in Shah Alam, training in KL and then meeting at the Tower.

On my way to KL, Kak Ayu called. My youngest brother had just met with an accident. He broke his leg.

I called office to cancel the flight back to Kuantan, informed Haji Z (my new boss) that I'll be taking emergency leave on Sunday (Sundays are working day in the state of Terengganu, FYI), called home and by Friday noon, I was on the way back to Hutan Melintang with my beloved wife and Syifaak.

We spent the weekend in Perak. It was get-together time for the whole family, also for the two young cousins - Aiman and Syifaak to meet again. BTW, Syifaak and Aiman got more attention than their poor uncle in the Hospital Besar Teluk Intan. Huhu.

Pictures of Syifaak and Aiman:

A picture of their poor uncle:

We drove back to Kuantan on Sunday and spent the night in Balok. We were on the way to Kerteh after Subuh the next day ( which was yesterday btw) as I needed to get to office to attend a meeting. My wife took annual leave as my mother in-law who has been baby-sitting Syifaak all this while, goes back to Batu Pahat for the week.

So, I was the in office yesterday morning to attend an environment work group meeting attended by some operation people, warehouse people, general services people and of course, the HSE people. It is interesting to note that these people can go neck to neck about drum barrels for almost one and a half hour - straight, although the two-hours meeting was not only about the drum barrels.

By noon we were on our way back to Kuantan. Stopped by at the newly-opened Mesra Mall to eat at the Secret Recipe outlet that Lan Snub is managing. The supposed short stop took longer than planned, mostly due to the long wait for the food my beloved wife ordered. The SR crew have forgotten to prepare it. Of course, we told Lan about it.

We arrived at Kuantan Bus Terminal at around 8.30 pm, after stopping by at Balok to pick up a few things. I took the 9.00 pm bus to KL. Arrived at Pekeliling around 1.00 am. Quickly agreed to the taxi driver who was willing to go up Genting Highlands for RM120.00. Arrived at the First World Hotel lobby at around 2.00 am.

Yep, I'm now in Genting, attending the HRDF (not Hindraf) Conference. I wonder whose idea was it to do the conference here, but I strongly believe that there are other much better venue in Malaysia to do it.

I also found it amusing that the theme for the conference is 'Re-engineering of Human Capital to Achieve Competetive Advantage'.

Re-engineering...

Duh...

It sounded like my blog's title. Huhu.

p/s: Pak Wan... I'll do the taggie thing later lah kot.

AK6347

Sekali beliau balik Pendang pulak dah. Backup plan, layan movie atau siri House sementara tunggu petang. Syifaak pulak tak mengizinkan. Dia mengaruk pulak.

Maka, aku pon memutuskan untuk membuat post pendek ni, sekadar nak mengucapkan selamat hari raya kepada semua.

Esok aku di Balok. Datangla beraya ke rumah. Kuih raya takde. Duit raya pon takde. Harap maklum.

Huhu.

p/s: Kepada yang memandu, berhati-hatilah. Kalau tanak berhati-hati, bawak la laju-laju. Biar kena saman. Kalu boleh, biar sampai eksiden. Tambahkan statistik Ops Sikap.

Technical.

1. I apologize for having to blog in English (and also the quality of my English) for this particular entry. Why? Why not? Actually, I'm conveying some indirect messages through this post. I don't expect you to understand them.

2. Congratulation to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for winning the by-election and becoming the new Opposition Leader. I've kinda predicted this just after the last General Election. So, what will happen to Malaysia's political scenario after this? How would his win in Permatang Pauh benefits Malaysian in general or me in particular? It's already a waste of the people's money to held that by-election when the only need being fulfil here is DSAI's personal need and agenda to be in Parliament. If it is for the people or the party or reformation or whatever 'struggle', the wife and daughter are already in the Parliament to make his voice heard. Why does he still need to be the next Prime Minister?

3. I found it very amusing to see 'sumpah' being used so often for the last couple of months. One side repeatedly used 'akuan bersumpah' (statutory declaration) while the other used 'sumpah laknat' (swearing in the face of divine retribution) a couple of times to demonstrate that they are telling the truth. I am more inclined to believe the latter. Allah is the best witness and judge.

4. I'll be getting back to work next week eventhough I'm not fully recovered from the surgery yet. I don't think I'm getting any better if I stay at home anyway. Just about a week ago, the pain on my lower back and right leg started to come back. It is not as bad as before the surgery but based on Akak Kenakelayan's hubby's experience, I'm worried...

5. There are two possible causes for the pain to come back. First, I travelled to KL to see Ummi departed for Umrah and returned to Kuantan on the same day. Second, I picked up and held Syifaak to get her to stop crying after all other methods failed. I was the only one at home at that time babysitting her.

6. Syifaak is almost 10 kg now. The doctor said I should not lift anything more than 5 kg.

7. It is the most wonderful feeling to see Syifaak grows, learns new things, makes new sounds, vocalizes her baby-talks, smiles and laughs. It is the worst feeling not being able to pick her up and hold her when she cries.

8. Don't you find her adorable?

syifaak yang chomel

9. There is actually a third reason for the pain to come back, but I just don't want to admit it. No, it is not 'that'. To avoid further speculation, let me just say it. I've been sitting around too much in front of this laptop, trying to understand it and make it function the way I want it to be.

10. Like any other geek, I've formatted my new Dell Inspiron 1420 to get rid of all the 'bloatware' that came with it and reinstalled only everything that I need. It has only been about ten days, but the laptop has gone through the reinstallation cycle three times.

11. I'm beginning to hate the Dell MediaDirect (MD) feature. It supposed to make your life easier by allowing you to access media content faster via it's dedicated MD button built on the laptop without having to boot into Vista. However, in case the feature get messed up, standard reinstallation of the feature requires a complete format of the entire hard disk, which is very, very irritating and inflexible. I'm trying to figure out a way around this limitation.

12. I manage to get the button to work properly on the first and second reinstallation. The third one, it gone BSOD and the only way to boot back into Vista is by pressing the MD button again. Pressing the boot button will only cause it to load MD again, then BSOD. Loop.

13. After two sleepless night browsing through various online discussion on this feature, I found out that MD uses XP Embedded (XPE) on the Host/Hidden Protected Area (HPA) partition of the harddrive to get the direct boot function. It's dedicated button manipulates the Master Boot Record (MBR) to switch the active partition for bootloader.

14. I learned how to use the md3utils.exe to access the content of the HPA partition where MD resides. I manage to get rid of the BSOD, by accidentally making XPE's hal.dll or boot.ini 'corrupted' but I still don't know how I did that nor how to fix it. Bottom line is, the MD function is still not working properly.

15. Standard reinstallation of MD is not an option. I don't want to get rid of it either, because I want to utilize the MD button. I may consider other usage for that button, like dual booting but as for now, I'm sticking with just MD. So, can someone please help me fix it? I'm not an IT guy or a programmer like Kmie so any help will be very much appreciated.

16. BTW, I've found new joy in practicing the 3 x 3 Rubik's Cube, thanks to the amazing Rubik's Cube solver program I downloaded from the net. Sorry, I lost the URL.

17. I'm not really sure why I put these numbering on my post. It just seems 'cool'. Haha. Don't bother to figure it out.

End.

p/s: I'm not a pro-BN person nor any political party/figure fanatic. I'm just a taxpayer and a fellow Malaysian. I'm planning to post something before 31st August, but in case I don't, happy National Day to all. Let us pray for a better Malaysia in the future.

Setelah...

Dah lima hari dah sejak aku operate. Alhamdulillah, takde complication.

Aku ngadu dekat tuan doktor tadi. Bila dia check, didapati anak tekak aku telah memanjang.

Pelik jugak dia anak tekak aku memanjang, tapi ni bukan bidang dia ni. So, dia akan mintak pakar ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) tengok esok.

Maka itu sajalah perkembangan aku setakat ni.

p/s: Effi, apsal ko tutup blog ko?

Tumpah...

Huhu.

Kejap je rasanya Syifaak membesar.

Waktu lahir dulu...

Hari ni...

Comel kan? Macam Papa dia.

Macam Papa je ke? (Bini tersayang)

Ye, ye. Comel macam Mama jugak.

Hihi.

Ish, gedik lak aku.

Sepupu.

Perjumpaan Aiman dan Syifaak.

Perbezaan saiz yang sangat ketara...

Oh ya, itu tangan Nenek mereka.

p/s: A ah, ye. Pendek je. Sori. Lagipon, bak kata orang putih, "a picture tells a thousand words."

(Dah malas blogging tu, ko ngaku je lah Sayuti oi... a picture a thousand words la konon)
